Beerkingo cerveza artesanal Tour
As the great Jack Nicholson said, “Beer, it’s the best damn drink in the world.” We tend to agree! This is the ideal tour for the horse rider who loves beer! Cabalgatas Canoa is now very proud to be working together with an excellent local brewery to bring the best of both worlds to our clients. We bring to you – The Beerkingo Cerveza Artesanal Tour.
Everyone knows that the Ecuadorians love their Pilsner and it is indeed a most acceptable lager and the one found in every street corner tienda. However there are thousands upon thousands of different beers that this world has to offer and Ecuador has begun to offer some very good ales and lagers brewed in smaller, artisanal breweries. We are extremely lucky to have one of those artisanal breweries right here in Canoa, hiding out in the hills and bestowing beautiful beer on all those who care to visit.
The Beerkingo cerveza artesanal tour starts out at the ranch where you will meet your horse and we will get you mounted and comfortable. Off into the hills we go, enjoying the cooler ocean breeze and stunning views out to sea. The ride continues through the hills and banana groves, passing small farms, resting cattle, giant samango trees, cacao plantations, lots of colourful birds and possibly a giant lizard. You really have to know where you are going to find this tiny corner of heaven tucked away up in these hills.
Now comes the best bit, the tour of the brewery and then the bit you have all been waiting for, the beer tasting! This is a brewery with very high standards, you are sure to be impressed at the huge steel pots and sparkling brewing equipment. The tour will be conducted in Spanish or in both languages if you opt for the bi-lingual guide. Either way we will provide you with written information in English.
Currently there are 12 different beers to taste and choose from. They range from a strong beer brewed with honey, light and sweet in colour and taste, to a dark and heady stout, which tastes just like melted chocolate with hints of coffee, and plenty of options in between the two including an IPA, a Golden, a citrusy Saison and a delicious cardamom beer.
After enjoying a couple of ales or so (depending on your preference!), we head back to the ranch over the hills just in time to enjoy a brilliant setting sun over the Pacific. With a goodbye to your horse and a happy beer induced glow, that concludes our tour.
